The Grodan rockwool growing slab represents the finest in Dutch growing technology, and it is the slab most widely used throughout the world by commercial and hobby growers!
Four sizes are commonly used. The 15 x 7.5 x 90cm and 15 x 7.5 x 100cm slab is used for tomato, cucumber, and pepper production, with its most popular use being with tomatoes. The 20 x 7.5 x 90cm and 20 x 7.5 x 100cm slab is used primarily for cucumber production as cucumbers require more volume of rockwool for the root system.
These slabs are wrapped in a coextruded white/black plastic film designed to keep light away from the slab and with UV inhibitors to allow use of up to two years.
Slabs fibers are aligned in a vertical direction helping to promote the rapid initiation of vegetative growing at the beginning of cultivation.
